Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $93,000.00 to $154,900.00. This position is eligible for participation in our short-term incentive program in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.

The range provided is not a guarantee of compensation. The range reflects the potential base pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part, on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills. The anticipated compensation range described above is subject to change and the compensation ultimately paid may be higher or lower than the range described above.

Position Details

As Facilities Manager, you will lead a team of technicians responsible for the operations and maintenance for facilities at Grainger's corporate headquarters. You will maintain the building and its' components by applying preventive and predictive maintenance techniques to maximize the useful life of the facility.

You Will

  • Assure maximum performance of building systems including an ammonia based central plant and ice tank.
  • Ensure that the site is maintained in a fashion that provides for a clean and safe environment and that the exterior of the facility provides a positive and pleasing appearance.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Manager to assure that Facility Maintenance Programs are in alignment to support Corporate Real Estate initiatives.
  • Recommend and institute training programs to ensure personnel are current in job performance and knowledge.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement savings initiatives, service enhancements and process improvements.
  • Develop estimates, requesting quotes, purchases and supervision of the delivery/installation of equipment, construction and/or service agreements.
  • Maximize the use of General Contractors, Regional and National contracts with suppliers and service providers to leverage cost savings for the company.
  • Collaborate with Grainger's Environmental Health and Safety Department s to assure compliance of Federal, State and local laws and ordinances related to the operation of the facilities.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the appropriate Corporate Real Estate Department Managers on a regular basis to provide effective maintenance services and to properly maintain the Corporation's facility assets.
  • With the assistance of the Senior Manager of Corporate Facilities, develop annual departmental budgets (capital and expense) monitor and manage expenditures to stay within approved budget levels.

You Have

  • Bachelor's Degree or other technical program or post high school education
  • 10+ years of related work and people leadership experience.
  • Must have high degree of technical knowledge and/or skill in areas of facilities maintenance which may include but not limited to structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing of the building and construction processes.
  • Familiarity with multiple building automation systems (BAS) such as Honeywell Niagara, Johnson controls Metasys, Siemens Desigo and preferred ability to program, schedule, run trends and reports
  • Knowledge of applicable OSHA and EPA regulations, NFPA and Factory Mutual standards, and general risk insurance guidelines and requirements.
