Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • Experience with Optics Engineering and/or Display Optics.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 6 years relevant work experience in software development, including experience in Python.
  • Proficiency with Finite-difference time-domain (FDTD), Rigorous Coupled Wave Analysis (RCWA), Ray-tracing, or Zemax OpticStudio.
  • Experience with waveguide based near-eye displays.
  • Experience with display systems.

With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

In this role, you will work alongside a team of highly skilled and experienced optical engineers to help evaluate and develop novel designs and architectures related to these displays, and work with both internal and external partners to validate and deliver these prototypes and products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with internal and external cross-functional partners to explore existing and novel optical architectures, for near-eye display and related applications.
  • Define system/sub-system/component level specifications for new eye displays and related systems.
  • Evaluate, design and improve waveguide based near-eye display systems.
  • Align current efforts with cross-functional teams across system, physical design, software, imaging, and optics.
  • Support internal optics modeling and simulation efforts.
