Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with front and back end semiconductor wafer processing.
  • Experience with advanced packaging.
  • Experience with data analysis software.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's of Science or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics or related technical field.
  • Experience in statistical process control (SPC) and assessing manufacturability.
  • Experience with emerging technology process development, including superconducting devices, photonics, and micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS).

    In this role you will develop and integrate both fabrication processes and hybridization/assembly components needed to support our quantum processor roadmap. You will collaborate with fabrication, design, architecture, and packaging teams to identify new capabilities, evaluate potential options, and drive development from concept through processor and package/assembly integration, this includes maintaining documentation, performing analysis of inline fabrication and e-test data, and driving yield improvement for new and existing components.

    The full potential of quantum computing will be unlocked with a large-scale computer capable of complex, error-corrected computations. Google Quantum AI's mission is to build this computer and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.     Responsibilities

    • Develop or support integration of wafer processes, including establishing process requirements, creating experimental plans, and coordinating development with partners.
    • Perform statistical analysis of inline process data and electrical test for both process and yield characterization.
    • Maintain documentation for new and existing components, including drawings, specifications, design rules, and application notes.
