  • About the job

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.

In this role, you will make Cloud's financial and business processes faster, simpler, and safer. You will provide assurance to leadership that Google's information and processes are effective, with high coverage, accurate and reliable outputs, and low error rates. You will subject activities to regular scrutiny, testing for control gaps and improving them to ensure their sufficiency in conforming to policy requirements and performance obligations. You will modernize the workflows that have served us well but have fallen behind, designing and implementing new system and platform requirements that create clear ownership, appropriate separations of duty, and transparent authorization of transactions.

You will map Cloud's highly complex business process and system architecture to facilitate transformational change. Cloud is a detailed, technocratic, and ever-evolving business you will understand how Finance and others currently operate within it, and see the bigger picture to standardize models and activities, reduce process variations, improve reporting, and automate manual work. You will design, build and evaluate procedures that support the day to day running of the Cloud business.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.
