Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
- 10 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 8 years with with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
- Experience in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) principles with experience in accounting (ASC 606) in a public accounting or multinational company setting.
- Ability to have a collaborative style and work with cross-functional and international teams.
- Ability to own projects and lead others (direct or indirect) to meet deadlines while maintaining quality of the work.

You will promote a culture of process improvement, motivating tangible efficiencies and enhancements within the Cloud Controllership team. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$221,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy or timeliness of the accounting close process for Cloud COGS and OpEx, including direct and indirect bookings and allocations, in compliance with US GAAP.
- Collaborate with Cloud finance team and broader controllership, finance, tax and legal teams to develop and implement a team strategy that prioritizes Cloud COGs and OpEx close, reporting, resilience, and compliance with Google Controllership standards.
- Develop a understanding of accounting systems and applications and identify opportunities to leverage technology to automate, optimize and improve Cloud Spend accounting processes.
- Develop comprehensive documentation of Cloud Spend accounting policies, procedures, and controls while leveraging excellent communication skills to guide and influence stakeholders, promoting collaboration and motivating positive outcomes.
- Represent the team in communication with Technical Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Corp Accounting, Allocations, Tax and global finance teams.
