AWM Strategy Team
The Asset & Wealth Management Strategy team ("AWM Strategy") partners with the leaders of the business to solve its most critical strategic issues. The team's remit spans three core pillars: (1) competitive intelligence, (2) business strategy, and (3) corporate development. Through these three pillars, AWM Strategy provides insights and recommendations to drive business growth across both organic and inorganic opportunities.
AWM Strategy regularly engages with senior stakeholders across the various AWM lines of business. As trusted strategic advisors, AWM Strategy leverages industry expertise, market perspective, and independent research to evaluate, prioritize, and execute strategic initiatives and corporate development opportunities.
AWM Strategy is seeking an Associate to join its team in New York. Note that depending on prior experience, we will also consider Vice President candidates for this role.
Roles & Responsibilities
The employee will be accountable for helping to drive key AWM Strategy initiatives forward, in collaboration with his or her AWM Strategy colleagues and business partners across AWM. This individual will help model, communicate, and execute on strategic growth projects for the AWM business. Roles & responsibilities will include:
- Conducting market review and sizing analyses, to uncover the drivers of industry change and evaluate AWM's relative positioning
- Identifying and developing strategies in support of AWM's growth priorities, including modeling the financial impact of our potential business choices
- Supporting AWM's corporate development efforts, including the assessment of new business opportunities, screening of potential targets, evaluation of strategic rationale and value creation drivers, etc.
- Creating presentations to facilitate the delivery of the team's findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of the asset management industry (including key players and trends) is a plus
- Strong analytical, technical and structured thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex analyses into clear insights
- Financial modeling experience (e.g., business planning, competitive benchmarking, industry sizing and projection modeling)
- Highly proficient at PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to independently balance multiple projects and competing priorities
- Experience using industry databases: e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, SNL, Morningstar, eVestment, Pitchbook
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
