Responsibilities
About this role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ServiceNow CMDB Architect to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in CMDB, Common Service Data Model (CSDM), and IT Operations Management (ITOM) modules. This role will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of our configuration data, enabling effective IT service management and operational excellence.
Job Duties
CMDB and CSDM Leadership:
- Design, implement, and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB aligned with the CSDM framework.
- Develop and enforce CMDB data standards, policies, and procedures.
- Lead the development of CMDB data models, relationships, and attributes.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy through data reconciliation and normalization processes.
- Provide expert guidance on CSDM best practices and implementation strategies.
ITOM Implementation and Integration:
- Integrate CMDB with ITOM modules (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, etc.) to enable automated discovery and service mapping.
- Configure and maintain discovery schedules and probes to ensure accurate and up-to-date configuration data.
- Develop and implement service mapping strategies to visualize and understand service dependencies.
- Leverage ITOM capabilities to improve incident, problem, and change management processes.
Technical Design and Implementation:
- Develop and maintain technical documentation related to CMDB and ITOM configurations.
- Design and implement custom solutions and integrations to enhance CMDB functionality.
- Perform performance tuning and optimization of CMDB and ITOM modules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to CMDB and ITOM.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, development, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements and ensure alignment.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members on CMDB and ITOM best practices.
- Participate in project planning and execution, providing technical expertise and guidance.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date on the latest ServiceNow features and best practices related to CMDB and ITOM.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Contribute to the development of CMDB and ITOM roadmaps and strategies.
Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills
- Experience as a ServiceNow CMDB Architect or similar role.
- Expert-level knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB, CSDM, and ITOM modules.
- Strong understanding of ITIL best practices and service management processes.
- Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript and Glide scripting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CIS-ITSM, CIS-ITOM) are highly desirable.
- Experience with API integrations.
- Experience with data reconciliation tools.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 2-4 years software development of business systems required.
