Job Description

We are looking for an engineer to provide technical expertise to support our Industrial Rotating Stabiliser (RS) Systems with in-depth troubleshooting, creation of technical reports, expert advice, and technical aspects of upgrades. As a member of our Tech Support team, your role will be to identify opportunities to improve the reliability of the RS systems to reduce downtime. You will support our installed base of systems, both in the UK and around the world, both in the office and on site when necessary.

In this role you will focus on:

  • Liaising with customers and field service engineers to resolve customers' issues. Resolutions of problems may involve modifications to software and hardware, which you will identify and/or implement.
  • Carrying out analysis of diagnostic files, collaborating with your team members and the engineering/development teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Working on customer site, on occasion.
  • When not resolving on site issues, your task will be to look for opportunities to improve the reliability and stability of the RS systems.
  • Working closely with our sales teams to advise on the technical aspects of our bids for upgrades or new systems.
  • Driving improvements in products, processes, and procedures.

We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:

  • A relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or significant experience in an electrical or industrial engineering environment.
  • Several years of exposure working with industrial control systems, including design, installation and/or maintenance.
  • Good understanding of variable frequency drives and experience analyzing diagnostic files.
  • Experience of programming PLCs and HMIs for the purpose of controlling the RS system.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain BPSS security clearance.
