Job Description Summary

The Advanced Nuclear Subcontracts Manager is a critical interface between subcontract partners, operations, business development team and customers. This role will assist in the qualification, selection and management of subcontract partners and will be responsible for assisting business development with verifying all customer specifications. The subcontract manager will work closely with subcontractors from initial quotation process to kick-off meeting, through project execution, while providing day-to-day management of subcontractor adherence to contract terms, conditions, flow downs, and regulations.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

  • Actively manages subcontractors across several projects, directly supporting the Project Managers.
  • Ensures subcontractor compliance with contractual flow downs, terms & conditions, and other direct requirements.
  • Ensures subcontractors comply with invoicing and reporting requirements
  • Receive subcontractors' responses to RFQ/RFP and determine each subcontractors' ability to meet GE requirements, including preparation of justifications, price/cost analysis, and negotiation memorandums.
  • Proposes and implements the subcontract management strategy on Claims, Variations, Amendments, and any critical subcontract-related matters that may arise within the project.
  • Tracks subcontractor commitments to ensure compliance with requirements from multiple agreements.
  • Engages in negotiating commercial terms and conditions with subcontractors and suppliers while consulting with operations, legal department, and senior management.
  • Upholds and supports published project policies.
  • Contributes to monthly project reports, summaries, and presentations, as required by the Project Manager/Project Director.
  • Actively participates in the close-out of agreements with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Ensures effective knowledge transfer upon contract execution, aiding the operations team in comprehending the subcontract's terms and the roles and obligations of all parties involved.
  • Maintains constant communication with the field and attends meetings as necessary.
  • Ensures adherence to the terms and conditions of the subcontracts and the Prime Contract. Assists in resolving commercial issues with subcontractors and reviews draft correspondences from the operations team. Supports the team in reviewing subcontractor requests for contract adjustments.
  • Monitors the flow of formal correspondences between the company and subcontractors, ensuring timely responses are provided.
  • Maintains project records diligently.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or a related field is necessary.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in subcontract management and/or contract management on large scale Engineering and/or Construction contracts.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • This position is based at our headquarters in Wilmington, NC. Must be willing to relocate (relocation assistance provided) if not already local
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%

Desired Characteristics:

  • Capable of identifying, tracking, and effectively communicating project plan steps and actions.
  • A team player with the capacity to work independently, meeting strict deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Knowledge and background in Nuclear Power Industry is preferred.
  • Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.

The base pay range for this position is $120,000-152,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 2/14/2025.
