Job Description Summary

Grid Software business of GE Vernova builds and delivers software products used by Electrical Grid Operators (In Power Transmission and Distribution segment) for ensuring quality and availability of electricity. Multiple GE Vernova products are stitched together as solution to help control room operators achieving their goal of quality and availability.
This position will drive standardization of solutions and ensure seamless integration of various GE Vernova Software Products in electrical grid space. The job will require translating the high-level roadmap into clear user stories and problems that we are solving, to prioritize and handover these user stories to the engineering teams, and to guide and track their development under an Agile methodology.

The role includes meeting with customers to understand their biggest pain points and problems they are trying to solve, help on the migration of many customers to our GridOS portfolio and actively communicate internally and externally our Roadmap.
This role requires someone with a combination of strong product management skills, and an ability to coordinate with a variety of supporting teams. This position works closely with Product Marketing, Product Management, Product Engineering, Product Service/Support, Sales and the Executive team.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Owns the product backlog and stories of Solutions, and feeds into the overall GridOS product strategy and roadmap.
  • Drives consistency and strategy for learning and development for Solutions portfolio
  • Prioritizes defects and supports customer escalations.
  • Support pre-sales for specific actions (RFP answers, customer presentations, etc.). Helps services for specific actions if required beyond training.
  • Accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. Integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, be involved in long-term planning, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of own and other product lines, markets, and customer groups and uses analytical thinking and commercial experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Uses judgment and can propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems with projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers. Ability to prioritize information for decision making.
  • Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • This Position will mainly be individual contributors.
  • A job at this level requires strong interpersonal skills. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Required Qualifications

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires advanced experience (10+ years) in the Product Management & Product Manager. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience). MBA is a plus
  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
