Job Description Summary
The Shift Operations Leader -2nd Shift Tubing is responsible for providing the safe and efficient management of the FCO production team. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining a high-performance safety culture in a lean manufacturing environment. This role will ensure in the continuous improvement of operating procedures, manufacturing processes, and to provide superior internal customer service to GE team members. The Shift Operations Leader provides all the necessary direction and input to the team to achieve safe and timely production goals.

- Function as the front-line leader and provide ongoing leadership of assigned personnel.
- Select, train, develop, and provide ongoing leadership and direction of assigned personnel.
- Assure operation planning - provides direction to support needs of production area, including work assignments, scheduling of overtime, training, time and attendance etc.
- Ensure team members are provided adequate training, resources, and support to assure safe and compliant manufacturing practices in a nuclear regulated environment.
- Be responsible for meeting the shift's strict EHS requirements, product quality requirements, and production schedule requirements.
- Collaborate with the Kaizen Promotion Officer to perform workshops using methodologies like SMED, 5S and Kaizen to successfully analyze and fix waste in every process. Assist the Kaizen Promotion Officer with managing the overall continuous improvement plan for the facility.
- Proficiently utilize a variety of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, & Outlook are most common) applications daily for data tracking, reporting, etc.
- Support, encourage, and facilitate Human Performance principles. Engrain in the team use of HU tools as it relates to safety and quality.
- Focus team on constantly seeking opportunity for improvement.
- Work with manufacturing engineering, support functions, and manufacturing leadership to provide technical, quality, and production leadership. Identify, effectively communicate, and own to resolution issues that may arise.
- Communicate business goals, programs, and processes to shift.
- Promote team engagement and ownership. Work with other shift supervisors as a team to implement consistent supervisory and operational practices.
- Support manufacturing leaders in the strategic planning of staffing, equipment, and other resources.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university (or verified equivalent) plus one (1) year of experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field.
- OR Associate degree from a regionally accredited college/university (or verified equivalent) plus three (3) years of technical experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field.
- OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field with at least 1 year of experience in a leadership position.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to work off-shifts as required
- Ability and willingness to support coverage gaps in supervision
- Typical working hours are expected to be 2:30PM-11:30PM, but you must have the ability and willingness to work and support other shifts for coverage as needed.
- Ability to wear protective clothing and a respirator in accordance with site requirements.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times during the day.
