The Project Quality Engineer will be responsible for executing supply chain project quality activities for GE Hitachi Advanced Nuclear projects in Japan.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform project execution activities for Advanced Nuclear projects focusing on quality control of the procurement activities.
- Work proactively with suppliers and GEH engineering organizations to define specific quality requirements, including development of inspection, verification, and qualification processes, in addition to tests and processes to assure products and services meet the GEH and customer quality requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Work proactively with suppliers to resolve quality concerns applying technical and quality expertise to deliver project quality requirements.
- Execute supplier Hold and Witness points and supplier quality surveillances.
- Disposition of supplier non-conforming products
- Write and review technical quality documents, plans and procedures
- Support future error prevention through the use of the corrective action processes.
- Must be willing to travel to supplier sites as required. (Up to 50%)

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college, with a minimum of 5 years of related professional work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading complex projects and providing quality guidance/ direction to contributing functions.
- Excellent technical writing skills and oral communication skills in Japanese and English, with the ability to create technical reports suitable for a wide range of audiences.
- Proven experience with Regulated Quality programs.

- Knowledge of Nuclear welding and non-destructive examination processes
- Experience in conducting quality inspections of equipment, components, or systems to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer focused team environment.
- Demonstrated self-starter possessing strong initiative and teamwork skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; proven ability to develop team relationships.
- Experience interacting with senior leadership at supplier and/or regulatory organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Demonstrated desire to be involved in a rapidly changing and challenging work environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of 10CFR50 Appendix B, ASME, NQA-1, and ISO-9001 standards.
