Job Description Summary
The People Leader for Materials and Processes Engineering Center of Excellence team in Engineering Innovation Center (Warsaw, Poland) will lead team of exceptionally talented engineers responsible for activities related to define processing, testing, analysis, and qualifications of Gas Turbine components, driving innovation by cooperation within NPI projects. Coordinate team workload by communicating with other organizations to anticipate, apply, adapt, or develop technologies for product introduction, vendor qualification, service performance, cost improvements, failure analysis and problem resolution. Define priorities for the team based on business goals and accomplishments, in adherence to business practices, engage in team technical responsibilities.

In coordination with global MPE organization, this role implements clear priorities across the MPE team and executes GE Vernova Gas Power strategy at the front-line level.
In addition to technical aspects, responsibilities include budget/schedule management and leading activities associated with Talent Development, Culture and Lean.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provides leadership for the Material Process Engineering team, and support council and recommendations to Section management
- Provides functional oversight over team Engineering operations, in coordination with global functional peers
- Define team priorities in alignment to regional, global, and key stakeholders.
- Ensure priorities flow-down to keep connection between Individual Contributor priorities and business imperatives
- Responsible for organization and talent strategies, people development, culture, leadership coaching, employee engagement and driving diversity and inclusion
- Own team development activities through impact substantiation of Learning Experiences from the Technical Growth Model (TGM)
- In collaboration with the Global and Local leadership and technical organizations, builds and strengthens the technical depth & capability for EIC MPE CoE engineering team
- Identify development opportunities to meet business priorities, fostering IP Protection generating business cases, new materials process and vendor development
- Collaborates with other engineering teams and PLs to deliver business outcomes connected to Gas Power priorities
- Ensures global cost competitiveness of the Engineering team, with focus on increasing productivity
- Drives continuous improvement activities and mindset through LEAN methodology, coaches team members on LEAN tools and approaches
- Establishes and drives change to continuously improve competency and efficiency of the processes. Cooperates to initiate programs responsive to external environment.
- Engage effective MAR's planning to ensure the best sequence of activities, preserving evidence and preventing re-work
- Drive engineering strategy including ensuring organizational effectiveness and health in line with business needs
- Ensures that technically sound, creative advancements in material science are integrated throughout all processes, practices for the team
- Conducts performance appraisals and participate in salary planning
- Mentoring/knowledge sharing coordination for MPE - GTE - GSC cooperation
- Working/Coordinating cross functional team support for RCA MA
- Execute an Safety (EHS) culture, supporting lab safety initiatives including participation on Lab Network Group, 5S/Safety Walks, etc
- Ensure adherence to 5S's and Laboratory housekeeping practices to mitigate risk
- Personally drives and coaches others on SDQC operating model execution
- Creates a desired GE Vernova company culture through actively driving GE Vernova Ways across engineering Team
Required Qualifications
- Proven significant experience in area of materials expertise in area of industrial Gas Turbines
- Significant experience in laboratory work coordination (preferred Failure Analysis lab experience)
- Knowledge of materials engineering processes and investigation techniques
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Proven successful experience as a technical mentor for the business
- Demonstrated ability in analyzing and solving problems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Influencing skills & working in a global matrix organization
