Quality Process Engineer- Schenectady Cores and Castings. Product quality review associated with the manufacturing process of investment castings. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Functionally own all aspects of Quality including but not limited to Development of Quality planning for each Product.
- Perform Operator proficiency audits for assigned Cell.
- Quality defect documentation and issue resolution.
- Track and trend Quality defects, and lead projects to reduce or eliminate.
- Final Quality documentation package completeness for product shipments.
- Maintain both Quality Assurance and Quality Control of products.
- Manufacturing processes and sourced components within the Cell.
- Maintain all process documentation and Methods..
- Be accountable for all Cell Quality KPI's (Severe Events, Escapes, and CoPQ), and develop strategies for improvement.
- Provide the Quality updates at all reviews, and gemba
- Proficient use of Quality systems (Power Now, Fiori, eSMS, Documentum, confluence).
- Participate in Root Cause investigations and develop Corrective and Preventative Actions for identified Quality issues through RCA's, and PSR.
- Perform Internal Audits, and document and resolve Audit findings.
- Represent Cell during ISO 9001 and AS 9100 Audits.
- Act as the liaison between the Factory and Sourcing, Engineering, and Customer representatives to quickly resolve Quality issues
- Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control. Includes quality assurance of products, services, manufacturing processes. Includes conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.
- Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college
- Or a 2 year Technical Degree with minimum 4 years' experience in a manufacturing leadership or quality role
- Or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 6 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership or quality role

The base pay range for this position is $74,800 - $90,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on March 31, 2025, or thereafter.
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
