Position Description
Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Quality & Process Engineer role is to provide coordination and support multiple areas of the plant. The Quality & Process Engineer will assist daily department needs through teams, tasks, or projects relating to manufacturing processes, direct operations to optimize throughput, and support manufacturing improvement initiatives including improvement teams to reduce costs.
The incumbent will also be responsible to direct the Inspection/Quality Assurance function to insure product reliability, conformance to customer/federal specifications in the most effective and economical manner. This position is responsible for the implementation of quality programs in conformance with existing and developmental products and processes.

Required Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Establishes, specifies, and assists in the implementation of sub-systems required to meet the requirements of a Quality System (ISO9001).
- Establishes quality plans that insure the proper inspection of all purchased materials, in-process materials, and final products. Documents plans and procedures on the division's Computer Network System.
- Specifies tooling, gauging, testing and analytical equipment that is required to meet internal and external customer supplied specifications.
- Coordinates inspection timing with manufacturing and customer delivery requirements. Provides Quality training to all site employees.
- Insures the collection, organization and availability of quality data and inspection records through the established computer and manual systems.
- Supervisor for Lab Area of the plant. Ensures Safety is top priority for all employees. Will be required to support off-hour/weekend operations as required. Carries out activities directed toward production continuity and balance, ensuring requisition of materials, and monitoring of machine loading and equipment maintenance.
- Coordinates production operations or processes across multiple work centers over several shift periods. Supports in attaining output, productivity, and quality. Monitors the performance of the business and proactively initiates and carries out actions to alleviate problem areas.
- Mentor and coach employees with assistance from Plant Manager and HR. Set SMART objectives and follow up on employee's performance with assistance.
Additional Description
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations or Business required
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Operations or Business preferred
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility/5+ years' experience required
