Job Description Summary

Gas Power Engineering (GPE) is engaged in exciting efforts to improve the Digital Thread across key pillar design tools to enhance error proofing and waste elimination in business processes. Establishing connected data that effectively flows between product & plant design systems, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Tools, and other applications is foundational to these efforts, and is a cornerstone of GPE's Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) strategy.

The Program Manager - Pillar Design Tools is a pivotal role that bridges GPE business objectives with technical software solutions to drive the development, maintenance, innovation, and enhancement of engineering systems and tools. In particular, the Pillar Design Tools Program Manager assumes functional ownership responsibilities for MBE tools comprised of GPE's primary Computer-Aided Design (CAD) platforms. Success in this role is defined through effective collaboration with CAD experts, business stakeholders, IT partners, and end users towards continuously improving our digital thread integrations, CAD capability, Design throughput, and strategic MBE roadmap.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Holds functional ownership responsibilities for the development and sustainability of Product and Digital Plant Design Tools and Systems. Program application portfolio includes the following:

    • For Product Design - CAD tools, such as NX, AutoCAD, Catia, and AVEVA, used by engineering to define form, fit, and function of 2D/3D components and assemblies, primarily interfacing with PLM and plant design system platforms
    • For Digital Plant Design (DPD) - CAD and System tools, such as AVEVA, Navisworks, COMOS, and homegrown applications, used by engineering for definition of plant data models (P&IDs, Instrumentation, Controls, device summaries, Structures, 2D/3D models, etc.), primarily interfacing with PLM, Project Engineering, and Supply Chain platforms to enable GPE's full turnkey plant solution offerings
  • Manages program governance, planning, prioritization, and execution
  • Engage in software supplier relationships to continuate high-quality, cost-effective solutions
  • Drive continuous Improvement activities for program, engaging in tool roadmaps that maximize application usage and capability while delivering strategic MBE transformation for Gas Power
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical software owners to ensure the effective development and management of design tools
  • Spearhead, facilitate initiatives that enhance user experience and align with business strategies focusing on tool commonality, integration capability, data processing, and risk management
  • Apply appropriate Daily Management, owning bowler KPIs and other performance tracking metrics in partnership with IT and according to customer expectations and business objectives.
  • Ensure program standards, training, and support material are up to date and comprehensive
  • Take on assignments beyond position scope, as requested or required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge/experience.
  • Significant experience in a Technical Leader or equivalent Senior Engineer role.

  • Has strategy and application expertise for Product and Plant Designs in these CAD platforms, preferably proficient in at least one and experienced in another(s) : NX, AVEVA, AutoCAD, Catia
  • Working knowledge of enterprise tools that interface with CAD/MBE platforms
  • Sets realistic objectives, accurately appraises situations, detects risks and issues, provides constructive feedback, and adapts seamlessly to changes in priorities.
  • Strategic thinker with strong organization, analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills

Other Beneficial Characteristics

  • Demonstrated capability and passion for program management, including within a matrix-based, global engineering team.
  • Knowledge of Intellectual Property Protection and Export Control Regulation
  • Understanding of scrum methodology, preferably with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Direct design experience in Plant Systems, Balance of Plant development
    Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

About Us

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $112,000-$185,400 USD Annually.

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a Variable Incentive (VIC) bonus of 15%.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
