Job Description Summary

The Mechanical Technician is responsible to execute planned and unplanned mechanical maintenance activities on equipment covered in the scope of the O&M contract.

Job Description

As Mechanical Technician you report to the Mechanical Team Lead and:

  • Execute mechanical related maintenance activities according to the workplan provided by the CMMS and approved by the Lead Engineer
  • Responsible to alert the Lead Engineer on any deviation from the instructions as issued in the procedure or PTW and require his assessment.
  • Responsible to assist in reducing maintenance cost by efficient use of consumables, parts and tools and preventing their loss or damage
  • Upload in the CMMS the mechanical maintenance activity reports
  • Interact closely with all Power Station personnel, specially the other maintenance department personnel as well as the operation staff
  • Pursuant to the approval of the site management team, can be incorporated within the outage crew during planned or unplanned inspections
  • At any time ensure compliance with customer, GE and legislative EHS requirements relevant to assigned duties and responsibilities
  • Execute activities in workshop & warehouse. Execute house keeping activities when needed.
  • Available for emergency on call duties on power plant

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Recognized technical qualification in mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of engineering practices, functions and processes involved in the operation and maintenance of a power plant or
  • Good knowledge of typical mechanical tools and equipment's
  • Knowledge of different maintenance types used in the industry
  • Substantial experience as mechanics in industrial environment, preferably in a CCPP environment.
  • Handling of machine tools (e.g. lathe) for modifications, repair and production of small spare parts.
  • Able to work unsupervised on mechanical tasks at the Power Station as needed
  • The jobholder shall be medically fit to undertake the full duties of the post
  • The ability to speak and communicate effectively in English
  • GE Aero Power Plant Experience is a benefit
  • Must be eligible to work in Ireland

  • Trustworthy, reliable Understanding of PTW system
  • Understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) like Maximo
