Manufacturing Service Manager

Job Description Summary

Perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Developing a vision and leading service manufacturing operations to meet the scheduled activities of the service manufacturing group. Supervises the daily shift activities in their assigned functional areas and works with team members to cultivate a winning manufacturing attitude and creative work environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the TR3 (transformer repair & refurbishment & redesign) factory and department
• Driving lean manufacturing, including manufacturing process excellence and continuous improvement, daily management, and standard work
• Ensure that the organizational design, functional expertise, and manufacturing process experience of the team is positioned for excellence
• Create, develop, and maintain business relations and effective communication with customers, union, subcontractors, sub-suppliers, consultants and within the company
• Implement business unit objectives and service manufacturing department goals in each functional area and driving decision-making responsibility and accountability for key operational initiatives
• Track and report metrics in their functional area to include man hour consumption, work order completion, inventory accuracy, throughput, capacity, and customer complaints
• Establish team goals that meet or exceed quality standards
• Leading compliance, as well as environmental, health & safety efforts in support of plant goals
• Aware of and comply with the quality management system, quality management policy, quality goals, and applicable laws and regulations
• Following grid solutions operating instructions
• Support to all transformer related service projects in unit and globally as a part of GE Grid Solutions
• Maintains accountability for the training, development, and performance management of team members in a functional area, including the developing training plans to maximize workforce capability
• Build, control and follow-up the quality control programs, project reviews in SAP, project schedule and planning according to GE project management instructions
• Support to unit sourcing for critical needs of the manufacturing, control, logistic and procurement activities

• Bachelor's degree in engineering fields, preferably electrical engineering
• Minimum 7 years' experience in power transformer business
• Expertise from design, manufacturing, and/or quality background
• Familiar to all specifications, standards, norms on transformers
• Strong technical knowledge about production processes and resource management
• Strong oral and written English language skill
• Comfortable in hybrid working conditions
• Ability to live in Istanbul or Kocaeli
• SAP program knowledge is a plus
