Job Description Summary

The GE Vernova Gas Power Heat Exchanger department is globally responsible for the order execution of heat exchangers being integral part of GEs combined cycle power plant applications (i.e. Condenser, District heater, Feedwater tank with deaerator, Atmospheric drain vessel, water/water cooler) as well as for gas turbine accessories coolers.

The responsibility of the Technical Project Manager within the HEX business will be focused on order execution of heat exchangers being integral part of GEs offered combined cycle power plant applications (i.e. Condenser, District heater, Feedwater tank with deaerator, Atmospheric drain vessel, CCW cooler). The role involves also to be the Single Point of Contact for tender design and costing requests.

As Technical project manager, you will manage and execute the relevant project specific heat exchanger portfolio, based on "Built to print" detail design engineering set-up in your project. You will be responsible for the technical content of calculations for thermal equipment sizing, mechanical component strength determination, as well for ordering & manufacturing documentation input to workshop. You will lead a multicultural team of project engineers throughout order execution and take charge of technology, quality, costs and on-time delivery. For tender activities, you will lead and support the technical offers for heat exchangers and interact with the Customer Application team

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Monitor the engineering process within the overall project schedule by clear control, scheduling and leading of Design Reviews.
  • Coordinate the engineering activities within assigned project and interface with other disciplines involved.
  • Contribute to external technical negotiations with suppliers and in customer/partner meetings
  • Ensure the on-time-delivery of engineering documentation, ensuring the engineering budget is respected by proper work allocation and Design Change Request management.
  • Perform thermal design of heat exchanger
  • In tendering phase, perform offers for Heat Exchanger Equipment, including contract analysis, design and costing of Equipment.
  • As Single Point of Contact in the team for tender projects, align with People Leader on resource allocation for tender work
  • Report to management on project status, budget, schedule, critical interfaces, risk management,
  • Ensure the compliance of GEV documentations toward the contract,
  • Coordinate with supplier when Equipment is under manufacturing, perform supplier expediting, handle NCR (Non Conformance Request) and SDR (Supplier Design change Request) from manufacturers
  • Provide technical support during manufacturing, erection and commissioning of the heat exchangers
  • Embrace and drive a culture of continuous quality improvement, fostering early detection of project issues, EAC leakages and risks.

Required Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical degree
  • Strong experience in heat exchanger business
  • Significant experience in Engineering activities in Thermal power plant technology and in project management position within multi-discipline international teams
  • Good understanding of Heat Exchanger Equipment design.
  • Knowledge in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics, in drawing reading and checking
  • Background in manufacturing, quality requirements and sourcing of shell and tube heat exchanger products
  • Project execution and project management experience and record of excellent project execution
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
