GE Grid Services North America supports its customer with their HVDC/FACTS system maintenance (Synchronous Condenser, SVCs, FSCs, HVDCs, Statcoms...).
Our service commissions, inspects, maintains, repairs HVDC/FACTS solution in North America and sometimes in other regions.
In GE Grid Services North America, you will travel to customer sites to support our customers for scheduled activities but also last-minute emergencies.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing on site commissioning, maintenance, repairs, refurbishment and troubleshooting on existing GE installed base (HVDC and FACTS ).
- Write quality and comprehensive reports
- Prepare your site activities, including HSE procedures, tool lists, maintenance planning, test procedures and prepare your reports to be issued to customers at your return.
- Support of long-term service project with a major Utilities
- Ability to support closeout of project deficiencies and Punchlist items
- Continuous development and specialized knowledge in HVDC and FACTS.
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
- Takes new perspective on existing solutions.
- Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
- Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University or College
- Able and willing to travel 80% including international and comply with GE travel guidelines.
Desired:
- Experience with Power electronics system (HVDC, SVC, Statcom)
- Experience with large electric machines (Synchronous condenser, generators...)
- Experience with HV measurement devices (CTs, PTs...)
- Experience with relay protection tests
- Experience with HMI commissioning
- Experience with commissioning/troubleshooting of PLCs or control units
- Experience with communication protocol and communication troubleshooting
- Experience with HV Breakers/Disconnector Switches/Transformers (An asset)

The salary range for this position is 79,400.00 - 95,200.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for overtime. 79,400.00 - 95,200.00 - 119,000.00 USD Annual
