HV Automation design engineer is responsible for the design and engineering of the SCADA/HMI and Network/Telecommunication matters of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) for HVDC substation projects. This position will work closely with other designers, engineers, and contractors to ensure compliance with contractual specifications, project schedules, and budget constraints.

Key Missions

HV Automation design engineer will have the following key missions:

  • Define all equipment and documents necessary to meet customer needs, including Cubicles for servers, substation controllers, gateways, fiber optical connections and networks.
  • Establish basic design, and then detailed drawings in compliance with contractual specifications, using CAD tools in line with company processes.
  • Supervise factory/site acceptance tests, performed by suppliers, and commissioning of Automation, Network, SCADA/HMI equipment/software in compliance with contractual technical specifications and project time schedules.

Performance Measurements

The performance of HV Automation design engineer will be measured based on:

  • Quality of design and accuracy of technical specifications
  • Efficient management of detailed design using CAD tools
  • Compliance with contractual specifications, project schedules, and budget constraints
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members

Desired Profile

The ideal candidate for HV Automation design engineer position should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Graduate from Automation/Telecom school.
  • Knowledge of electrical installations, including substation controls, SCADA/HMI
  • Knowledge in Optical transmission systems, WAN/LAN design and configuration
  • Knowledge in clusters, virtualization, version control tools, asset management tools, cybersecurity will be an advantage.

Experience

  • Proven experience in industrial network and control system design or setup is mandatory.
  • FAT/SAT/commissioning experience will be an advantage as any other field activity experience.
  • Portfolio of completed tasks in EPC/turnkey projects could be presented to prove the practical expertise.
