GE Grid Automation unit in Walbrzych, Poland is an emerging and growing business in the field of protection relays, CCS and DCS solutions for distribution, transmission and industry sectors of energy market. The region in which we are mainly active includes Poland, Czech and Slovak Republics, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Moldova. We are dynamically introducing the digital substation technology with several success stories in the region behind. We are growing the team to face challenges of pending offshore projects on Baltic Sea.

Job Description

he main responsibilities for this position are:

• plan and coordinate activities of engineering team to fit into project schedules
• plan and develop operations engineering resources (both internal, and external) in line with projects backlog and forecasts
• plan and develop skils of the engineering team
• secure safe work environment, tools and training for the team
• act as Grid Automation focal point and lead technical discussions with various project stakeholders in multinatioinal environment,
• lead technical discussions with GE manufacturing units to compromise the client's requirements ver. feasibility,
• recommend solutions which both meet the requirements of the client and secure GE interest,
• technical support for the project management team, as well as sales and tendering,
• back up configuration and on-site commissioning of GE P&C solutions,
• customer trainings (presentations, hands-on training),
• aftersales support for GE clients in the region;

• Education:
  • Technical High School Diploma of a relevant faculty of protection & automation in energy systems; Ph.D will be a plus
• Experience:
  • sound and working experience in power systems, specifically transmission, in the field of protection relays and SCADA;
  • knowledge of HV/MV systems, incl. bus bar applications, standards, specifications, requirements, communication protocols, etc.;
  • acquaintance of GE range of HV/MV protection relays i.e. Micom Px40, Multilin UR, 8 series will be a plus;
  • experience in computer networks, switches, routers, gateways, etc. will be a plus
  • sound interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse groups of stakeholders, both external and internal;
• Specific knowledge:
  • Native or fluent Polish;
  • English command to effectively communicate with multinational customers and other GE functions abroad;
  • Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information;
