The Engineering Project Intern will be responsible for providing support to the engineering leadership teams, assisting in closing out follow-up actions for different engineering meetings and work in our collaboration tools and assisting in developing ways to streamline the way teams work.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
  • Resolves issues using established procedures.
  • Receive training, mentorship, and coaching from experienced leaders managers.
  • Grow your technical expertise in your chosen field and expand your skills in new areas.
  • Experience technically challenging assignments in the power generation industry
  • Collaborate with the team and others in the organizations to solve issues
  • Plan, organize and coordinate technical activities/tasks in support of engineering deliverables
  • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GEV
  • Support GEV initiatives, process improvement and simplification
  • Support GEV Nuclear Energy quality requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to GEV's standards for nuclear safety and compliance

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility requirements:

  • This role requires basic experience in the Project Management & Document Management.
  • Must be enrolled in a full-time Post secondary institution in the Power Engineering, Project Management or similar discipline
  • Must maintain a good standing cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using computer applications. Experience in word processing, presentation packages, databases, and spreadsheet packages. Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with Adobe software to be able to create/modify PDF files.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be willing to relocate and work in Markham, ON.
  • Must be available for a 12-month co-op program starting spring 2025

  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple demands and priorities
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Eager to learn new technology and skillsets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio etc.).
