The Engineering Project Intern will be responsible for providing support to the engineering leadership teams, assisting in closing out follow-up actions for different engineering meetings and work in our collaboration tools and assisting in developing ways to streamline the way teams work.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
- Resolves issues using established procedures.
- Receive training, mentorship, and coaching from experienced leaders managers.
- Grow your technical expertise in your chosen field and expand your skills in new areas.
- Experience technically challenging assignments in the power generation industry
- Collaborate with the team and others in the organizations to solve issues
- Plan, organize and coordinate technical activities/tasks in support of engineering deliverables
- Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GEV
- Support GEV initiatives, process improvement and simplification
- Support GEV Nuclear Energy quality requirements.
- Ensure adherence to GEV's standards for nuclear safety and compliance
Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility requirements:
- This role requires basic experience in the Project Management & Document Management.
- Must be enrolled in a full-time Post secondary institution in the Power Engineering, Project Management or similar discipline
- Must maintain a good standing cumulative GPA
- Demonstrate proficiency in using computer applications. Experience in word processing, presentation packages, databases, and spreadsheet packages. Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with Adobe software to be able to create/modify PDF files.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to relocate and work in Markham, ON.
- Must be available for a 12-month co-op program starting spring 2025
