Job Description
As a Data Architect (Data and Analytics) specializing in electric utilities, you will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing solutions leveraging the GridOS Data Fabric, which is the grid data management layer of GE Vernova's GridOS Platform. You will work closely with clients to understand their business needs, translate them into technical requirements and design scalable, efficient data architectures. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional team to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility, enhancing decision-making capabilities and operational efficiency within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Solution Design and Architecture: Work closely with utility clients (OT and IT) to understand data requirements, align data architecture with business goals, and design end-to-end data analytics solutions that ensure data integration and management of data across multiple sources and systems, meet business goals and comply with the client's IT landscape.
- Data Analytics: Works on extracting meaningful patterns and trends from data to support decision-making and optimize operations
- Data Integration: Architect solution that integrate data from various sources with the GridOS Data Fabric, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility.
- Technical Leadership: Lead the technical delivery of the data architecture, guiding project teams in implementing the designed solution.
- Mentoring, training and knowledge sharing: Collaborate with the Services function (Delivery Manager Project Manager, Integrators) during the implementation phase, provide training and mentorship to develop teams and clients, ensuring successful adoption and utilization of GridOS Data Fabric.
- Documentation: Own the design deliverables (Statement of Work, Solution Architecture documents), ensure traceability of requirements with solutions proposed.
- Accountability: Be responsible for the communication and enforcement of the Solution Design to Customer and Key Project Stakeholders.
- Team player: Manage involvement of other SMEs (e.g. business analysts, IT / Cybersecurity experts) and make sure their design contributions meet system architecture functional and non-functional requirements. Collaborate with Product Managers & Engineering (Customer Voice, Return on Experience, product enhancements, reference architectures)
- Continuous Improvement: Drive excellence in execution through continuous improvement in their segment or domain (best practices and reference material - reference architectures, reference solutions, stay current with the latest advancements in the technological domain)
- Technical Expertise: Build technical expertise in the field of their segment or domain. Deliver technical consultancy services on demand
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Strong experience in data architecture, data engineering, or similar roles.
- Familiarity with big data technologies and analytics platforms. Strong understanding of data fabric concepts, data integration, and data management technologies. Understanding of data mesh and data fabric principles, enabling software composability and data-centric design trade-offs.
- Knowledge in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization.
- Microservice Architecture: Understanding of microservice architecture and software development
- Kubernetes: Understanding of Kubernetes, including software development in an orchestrated microservice architecture. This includes Kubernetes API, custom resources, API aggregation, Helm, and manifest standardization.
- CI/CD and DevSecOps: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and GitOps, especially in secure, air-gapped environments.
- Experience with electric distribution utilities and knowledge of industry-specific data challenges and solutions.
- Experience in a client-facing or consulting role, delivering technical solutions to enterprise clients.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and solutions (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Excellent interpersonal, oral/presentation and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical language.
- Mobile Software Architecture: Knowledge of mobile software architecture for field crew operations, offline support, and near-real time operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior electric utility work experience. Familiarity with key technologies specific to the energy industry, such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Geospatial network modeling, Renewables and DER orchestration, etc.
- Common Information Model (CIM): knowledge of CIM standards and their application within the energy sector.
- Exposure to iterative product development and program management techniques including Agile, Safe, Scrum, DevOps...
- Experience in Services - Software Commissioning
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
- Professional English level.
