The Role

We are looking for a Data Architect who design a data platform on Google Cloud that adheres to all best practices in design, in building and maintaining large-scale data warehouses and ensuring data quality at scale on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Responsibilities:

  • Design the strategy, gather client requirements and develop the strategy to feed these data platforms following compliance standards.
  • Lead a team of data engineers to implement the proposals.
  • Maintain communication with both technical and non-technical colleagues to derive technical requirements from business needs and problems. Although the role will be technical.

Who You Are

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience in data warehousing and data lake design patterns.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining large-scale data warehouses and ensuring data quality at scale on Google Cloud Platform GCP.
  • Real experience in most data services, such as BigQuery, Composer, Dataform, DataProc, Pub/Sub...
  • Expertise in data mining, data storage and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes.
  • Pyspark, Python and SQL programing skills.
  • Knowledge of BI tools such as Looker or PowerBI for data visualization and reporting.
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues, to derive technical requirements from business needs and problems.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in other data enviroments e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, Azure or AWS.
  • Knowledge of DevOps/DataOps practices and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Understanding of monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Cloud platform certification: Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer
