Job Description Summary

The Controls Quality team is seeking a Technical Leader to guide and lead efforts in controls RCAs, field issues, PAC cases, testing, and integrating lessons learned into the design process. The role involves coordinating root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, optimizing processes for efficiency, and fostering innovation in quality improvements. The ideal candidate will effectively communicate technical data, mentor team members, and drive quality enhancements.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Controls, FRO, and RCA teams to:
    • Lead turbine controls RCA through the 8D cycle from start to finish
    • Analyze and resolve complex control issues in turbine fleets
    • Implement containment measures and corrective actions
    • Manage defects and change requests
  • Coordinate with Configuration Management to implement defect and RCA-related changes in PLM
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations to stakeholders via reports and presentations.
  • Promote lessons learned, best practices, and standardization in design documentation and processes.
  • Lead and participate in multiple projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Utilize Six Sigma tools for process improvements and document successful projects.
  • Develop and implement innovative design and development concepts to address technical challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant wind engineering experience

  • Experience with wind turbine control systems and aero-elastic wind turbine simulation tools like Flex or Simpak.
  • Advanced degree in controls, wind energy, or system dynamics.
  • Understanding of classical and modern control theory.
  • Experience with real-time control systems such as MarkVIe.
  • Knowledge of programming languages like C or Python.
  • Experience simulating field issues for resolution.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets to detect trends and determine root causes.
  • Strong ability to interface with all organizational levels and external customers.

The base pay range for this position is $11,200 - 148,300 - 185,400 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses or other financial incentives, such as a performance variable incentive compensation. This posting is expected to close on April 20, 2025.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
