Job Description
GE Vernova's Consulting Services, has offices in multiple countries and offers our global clients (both external & internal to GE Vernova) a wide range of solutions across the entire spectrum of power generation, delivery, and utilization. Our Power Systems Strategy team utilizes their deep knowledge of power market operations; power grid planning, design, and operation; asset valuation and forecasting; and life-cycle management, to offer customized solutions to our global clients. Our Power Economics team offers analyses focused on the understanding and study of the financial and physical operation of electric power systems, including grid planning, system optimization, asset valuation and techno-economic modeling, competitive power market structure and operations, energy policy implications, and long-term regional and portfolio strategic planning. Over 700 entities worldwide use our suite of software tools to assess the economics, performance, and reliability of interconnected power systems. We also offer a full range of education courses through our Power Systems Engineering Course (PSEC) offering. As a member of GE Vernova's Consulting Services - Power Systems Strategy team, a successful candidate will support consulting and advisory services across the electric power industry and support other GE business initiatives related to power systems equipment and services.
What You Will Do:
- Conduct economic and/or engineering system studies related to production cost modeling, reliability analysis, power market forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Support GE Vernova businesses and customers in the areas such as wind and solar asset analysis and integration, smart grid optimization, distributed energy resource (hybrid systems and microgrids) planning and modeling, asset optimization and utilization, new product initiatives, and system and portfolio decarbonization planning engagements, amongst others.
- Develop, maintain, and apply detailed market simulation models for the energy industry for customer planning and investment objectives, evaluating impacts of structural changes in electricity markets, and identifying growth opportunities for GE Vernova.
- Perform research affecting global power markets for policy changes and other newsworthy issues that may affect generation and transmission asset values and advise clients on expected impacts of those changes.

What You'll Bring (Basic Qualifications):
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (without rounding)
- Working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical field of study in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Must be willing to work in geographical area specified by the business
- Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $27.00/hr based on years of undergrate/graduate field of study completed
This position is also eligible for:
- Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
- Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern's permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
