YOUR ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Azure Operations Support Lead to oversee and manage the operational aspects of our Azure cloud environment. The ideal candidate will lead a team responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and ensuring the availability of cloud-based systems critical to our US Life Business. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless cloud operations while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
What you will be doing
- Oversee daily operations of the Azure environment, including resource optimization, performance monitoring, and cost management. Ensure high availability and reliability of cloud infrastructure to support mission-critical applications in Azure.
- Act as the escalation point for critical incidents affecting Azure services and established environments. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Lead or participate in Incident Management calls.
- Standing up a support-based model and team of cloud engineers. Work with other teams to provide complete support.
- Ensure our cloud environment complies with banking and insurance industry standards, including data protection and regulatory requirements as well as our security guidelines.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement robust access controls, encryption, and other security measures.
- Lead and mentor a team of Azure support engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and operational excellence.
- Work with engineering teams to define KPIs and monitor all managed applications.
- Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps, including pipeline creation, release management, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Work closely with business units, project managers, and IT leadership to align cloud operations with organizational goals. Provide regular updates and insights into the health and performance of the Azure environment.
- Coordinating with On-premises teams. Advising, architecting and supporting migrating applications.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or 5+ years of working in an IT role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, with at least 3 years in Azure (or other cloud providers). Proven track record of supporting mission-critical systems in regulated industries like banking or insurance.
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect) are highly preferred.
- Proficient in Azure services (e.g., Virtual Machines, App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Kubernetes Service).
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Splunk or SAAS tooling.
- Strong understanding of modern cloud security compliance standards.
- Hands-on experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, ARM Templates, or Terraform) would be beneficial.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Additional Information
The base salary pay range for this role starts at a minimum rate of $ 91,800 up to the maximum of $181,200. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible to participate in an incentive plan. The incentive plan is based on performance and the target earning opportunity is 10% of your base compensation. The final determination on base pay for this position will be based on multiple factors at the time of this job posting including but not limited to geographic location, experience, and qualifications to ensure pay equity within the organization.
