Description
Leidos' Health and Civil Sector is seeking a Senior SaaS Operation Engineer Lead to work and oversee a team of admins that work directly with the production systems behind all SAAS offerings and will be executing SAAS operations required for end-to-end service delivery to our customers and resolve incidents as a level 4 support engineer.
Role is primarily telework. Candidate MUST:
be US Citizen or US Person (Green Card Holder) located in the United States for the current three consecutive years and have the ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
be located in EST, CST or MST time zone for collaboration with team
You'll collaborate with software engineers, cloud engineers and architects, and other IT pros in deploying, automating, and managing the software infrastructure. As the Sr. SaaS Ops Engineer Lead you will also be responsible for managing the team that will be setting up CI/CD pipelines, monitoring programs, and cloud infrastructure. - Oversee our customers SaaS offerings from standardized services from the service catalogue.
- Proficient with a major cloud services platform, i.e., GCP, Azure, AWS, SaaS applications, etc.
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex information systems, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential system vulnerabilities and performance bottlenecks.
- Develop and implement strategies for optimizing system architecture and infrastructure.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, security) to define and implement solutions that meet business objectives.
- Drive innovation by researching and evaluating new technologies and recommending their adoption.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes.
- Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for critical system issues.
- Contribute to the development of engineering best practices and standards.
- This position will require you to be available during core business hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, and 10+ years of experience in IT support roles, with at least 5+ years in a senior and leadership engineering position overseeing a team.
- Certifications relevant to the role (e.g., Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect, ASW SysOps Administrator, AWS DevOps Engineer MS Azure certification) - At least one is required.
- Deep understanding of system architecture, design patterns, and best practices
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
- Strong experience with cloud-based IT environments (Google Workspace, MS Azure, AWS, Zoom, Slack, GitHub, Atlassian, etc.), with advanced domain knowledge of Okta.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages for system administration tasks
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audience
- Demonstrated ability to align technology solutions with business objectives and drive positive business outcomes
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)

Pay Range:
Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
