Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan, on a full-time basis.
The Role: We are seeking an innovated Safety Supervisor to join our transformative team. This position is crucial in fostering a commitment to a safe and cutting-edge work environment by creating and executing safety programs and protocols during the early stages of product, facility, and process design. Additionally, this position will support established facilities to ensure safety protocols are maintained as technologies evolve.

In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with various departments across GM to integrate safety into new equipment and processes, driving the future of GM's electric vehicles.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a keen eye for identifying hazards and risks, and a passion for recommending innovative solutions to enhance workplace safety.
What You'll Do:
- Provide Workplace Safety technical and regulatory advice and coaching to site/functional operations.
- Oversee safety and technological aspects of new and existing building projects
- Participate in Risk Assessment for new equipment and processes and identify and mitigate safety hazards in equipment and process designs and complete g-comply buy offs of equipment
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety Systems and Global Health and Safety Standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for buildings, ensuring successful implementation of workplace safety systems and health and safety standards.
- Drive the execution of Global Workplace Safety System BPD initiatives by providing clear direction, education, and tools to stakeholders.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years' experience in Engineering, Workplace Safety, or Manufacturing Equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of Workplace Safety Systems and Global Design for Health and Safety Standards.
- Ability to handle complex safety and technological challenges in a dynamic environment.
- Expertise in identifying and mitigating safety hazards and risks in equipment and process designs.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
- Working knowledge in business application software (Microsoft office, SharePoint, Power BI) and other related electronic tools.
- Skilled in coaching, teaching, and mentoring.
- Effective communicator at all management levels.
- Agile and adaptable to change.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) are highly desirable.
- Experience in Safety, EV/RESS equipment or Team Management in a leading organization.
- Technical Manufacturing SME
- In depth understating of GM's Workplace Safety System
- In depth understanding of GDHS Specification
