DESCRIPTION
Manages health, safety, and environmental (HSE) projects and programs from identification through implementation, driving continuous improvement. Collaborates with cross-functional teams and key business stakeholders to ensure successful project completion. Promotes a positive HSE culture while identifying and mitigating risks to enhance organizational safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Builds relationships across functions, demonstrating a commitment to driving a positive health, safety, and environmental culture.
- Consults with employees to incorporate their feedback into the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures.
- Interprets results from hazard identification, environmental aspect identification, and risk assessments to identify strategic risk improvement projects or compliance gaps.
- Monitors and measures HSE performance metrics, legal compliance findings, and internal/external audit results to prioritize projects using a risk-based, data-driven approach.
- Manages project teams to establish goals, plans, timelines, and milestones. Tracks performance against these benchmarks and communicates status to stakeholders.
- Oversees project costs, risks, and resources, resolving issues collaboratively with the team.
- Leads projects from identification through implementation using Cummins-approved methodologies.
- Applies the "plan, do, check, act" methodology to drive continuous improvement across sites.
- Develops and maintains training materials, internal communication resources, and project-related support materials.
- Leads formal training sessions and ensures policies, procedures, tools, and resources are up-to-date, controlled, and compliant with data privacy regulations.
- Guides cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions to eliminate or reduce risks.
- Coaches and develops team members and stakeholders on HSE processes based on observations and feedback.
- Supports HSE Management Systems through active participation in site audits.
- Actively seeks opportunities for self-development by engaging with professional HSE organizations and staying informed of emerging trends.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
- Education: College, university, or equivalent degree required. A degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or Environmental studies is preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of intermediate experience in HSE project management and team leadership. Familiarity with industrial safety standards and practices is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certifications in HSE-related fields or project management are a plus but not mandatory.
