Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Mountain View, CA location three times per week, at minimum (or other frequency dictated by the business).
The Role:
We are seeking a Staff Hardware Engineer to lead the design and development of innovative network technologies. This role demands exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills to build strong partnerships with internal teams focused on electronic control unit (ECU) design, as well as with semiconductor partners. The primary focus will be on Ethernet and Serializer/De-Serializer (SerDes) technologies.

What You'll Need (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering / Electronics / Computer Science, or relevant experience in lieu of degree
- 10+ total years of engineering experience in hardware design and development
- Understanding of automotive Ethernet, SerDes, and/or CAN network architecture
- Experience with semiconductor bring-up and ECU hardware development
- Experience with lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, and automation tools
- Experience with schematic design and system signal integrity
- Exceptional collaboration and teamwork skills; demonstrated ability for working across functional and organizational boundaries
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, execution, and monitoring
- Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to learn quickly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree/PhD in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle, particularly in embedded systems and automotive applications Experience with lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and multimeters
- Industry expertise in Ethernet, SerDes, and/or CAN application engineering through work at a semiconductor company
Compensation:
The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
The salary range for this role is $137,000 to $214,300. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential : An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
