This role is categorized as HYBRID . This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren 7000 Building three times per week, at minimum. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

The Senior Demand and Supply Forecasting Analyst will be responsible for developing and managing accurate demand forecasts across GM Energy's product lines, including Level II EV chargers, V2X hardware, energy storage systems, and public charging solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, with a deep understanding of data modeling, forecasting methodologies, and the unique dynamics of the EV charging and energy storage industries. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations to ensure alignment on demand trends, inventory management, and production schedules.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Demand Forecasting: Lead the development of short-term and long-term demand forecasts for GM Energy's product portfolio, including EV chargers, V2X hardware, energy storage solutions, and public charging infrastructure.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Use advanced analytics and statistical tools to analyze historical data, trends, and market conditions to generate accurate, actionable demand forecasts.
  • Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure that forecasts align with business objectives and upcoming market activities, including product launches, promotions, and seasonal demand spikes.
  • Forecast Accuracy & Performance Metrics: Monitor and track forecast performance against actuals, providing insights and recommendations to continuously improve accuracy and mitigate potential risks.
  • Inventory & Capacity Planning: Work closely with supply chain teams to align forecasts with inventory and production capacities, ensuring optimal inventory levels and avoiding stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Scenario Planning: Develop and present multiple forecasting scenarios based on different assumptions (e.g., market growth rates, new customer acquisition, government incentives, etc.) to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Market & Industry Trends: Stay informed on industry trends, government regulations, and market conditions in the EV charging and energy storage space that could impact product demand.
  • Reporting & Presentations: Present forecast results, variance analysis, and insights to senior leadership, highlighting key risks and opportunities.

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in demand forecasting, supply chain analytics, or a related role, preferably in the EV, energy, or technology sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Proven experience working with complex product portfolios (e.g., hardware and energy solutions).
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle infrastructure and energy storage solutions is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in demand planning software
  • Advanced skills in data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, R, or other statistical software.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for data visualization and reporting.

Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights.

Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and forecasts to senior leadership and non-technical teams.

Attention to Detail: Ability to manage large datasets and provide high levels of accuracy in forecasting and analysis.

Problem-Solving: Strong ability to anticipate and resolve issues related to supply-demand imbalances, inventory levels, and production schedules.

Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 5+ years of product/operations management and/or SSM (sales, service, marketing) experience
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle industry trends and regulations.
  • Experience in V2X technology and energy storage market dynamics.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy and smart grid technologies.
