The Role - As a Sr. Buyer you will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services. Responsible for actively participating in the development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and collaborate with suppliers or internal partners. The work is of a sophisticated nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and judgment.

What You'll Do
- Responsible for maintaining sourcing pipeline, benchmarking data, strategy presentations, global budget and on-time metrics
- Adhere to corporate and unit purchasing and accounting practices and procedures
- Sourcing and Contracting Activities that include, but not limited to:
- Sourcing event bid strategy & management
- Bid analytics
- Coordination and alignment of RFQ package components, including Terms & Conditions, SOR, technical documentation
- Leadership sourcing recommendation / alignment
- Management of sourcing documentation related to bid events in adherence to the GM Audit Services
- Cooperate with legal to negotiate special contract terms
- Daily supplier interface activities on all commercial items
- Support commercial budget activities
- Support supplier management initiatives, including "Strategic Supplier Engagement"
- Nurture relationship with strategic suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolution
- Perform rate management activities including spot buys, rate analysis and supplier requests
- Participate in supplier KPI reviews
Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
- The salary range for this role is ( 98,900 - 158,000 ). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.

Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- 5+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development
- The highlighted area above may be adjusted depending on needs of the group/hiring manager.
- Experience with commodities required
- High Level knowledge about IT/technology (Software, Saas, Immerging Technologies)
- High level of capability to work independently
- Highly proficient oral and written communication skills
- High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Negotiation skills
- Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time
- Capable of interpreting contracts
- Demonstrated global business skills
- 10-15% travel Domestically + Internationally
EDUCATION:
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, related field, or equivalent work experience
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related advanced degree a plus
- Automotive industry experience
- Experience with ADAS (purchasing) is a plus
- Knowledge of materials management
- Capable of interpreting market data
- Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents
- Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing
- processes
