The Role:
The Safety Operations Representative is a technical position responsible for supporting the implementation of the Workplace Safety System at multiple non-manufacturing sites / functions.
What You'll Do:
We are seeking a collaborative and strategic leader to drive the successful execution of our Global Workplace Safety (GWS) Strategy at the site/function level. This role is essential in developing valuable strategic direction that empowers our teams to achieve our safety goals.

- Lead the execution of annual GWS action plans at various sites, providing Site GWS Champions with clear direction, education, and tools to effectively address challenges within their functions. Ensure that local/regional regulatory requirements and GM standards are understood, implemented, and assessed at all managed sites.
- Collaborate with peers to share and demonstrate best practices across sites, while supporting site operations leadership and other key GWS functions.
- Analyze Workplace Safety data, communicate results and trends, and identify continuous improvement opportunities. Assess site Workplace Safety performance and compliance with established requirements.
- Partner with local site leadership to foster a culture of Workplace Safety transformation, promoting an environment where all employees feel empowered to contribute to safety initiatives.
- Develop and educate site employees to drive cultural transformation in Workplace Safety, ensuring that everyone understands their role in maintaining a safe workplace.
- Build strong partnerships with key site personnel, including Manufacturing and Non-Manufacturing Leadership, Human Resources, Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics resources, and Health Services.
- Engage with union representatives to collaboratively address and resolve issues.
- Assist or direct the resolution of government safety violations or citations, ensuring compliance and promoting a culture of safety.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- BA/BS degree in safety or related field or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- 2+ years experience in manufacturing or non-manufacturing operations experience in the Environmental, Health, and Safety field
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in both written and verbal communication
- Ability to analyze situations and develop appropriate safety measures
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)"
- 2+ years experience in GM manufacturing, CCA or non-manufacturing operations experience in the Environmental, Health, and Safety field
