Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as on-site. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to HQ Building in Shanghai, China five times per week.
The Role -
The parts specialist serves as an auxiliary connection between GMNA, GM receiving markets and China JV, to support overall parts readiness/availability status for China export programs. This position requires creativity, initiative, collaboration, and excellent communications.
The parts specialist must work closely with multi-functional teams to ensure parts fulfilled at receiving markets on time, including parts supplier, parts engineering, parts supply chain, logistics, etc.

What You'll Do -
- Lead communications among China JV, GM receiving markets and supply chain team.
- Track parts readiness and availability status for China export programs, leading and driving resolution of parts issues including back-orders, shipment delays, etc.
- Enhance parts availability at GM receiving markets by leading parts change management, parts EOP management, etc.
- Collecting parts related issues from GM receiving markets and lead resolution discussion among relevant groups.
- Support parts operation process negotiation/process improvement between China JV and GM receiving markets.
- Substance of content/Parts marking for China export programs.
- Coordinate parts delivery plan based on program launch plans for each GM receiving market.
- Functions as an avenue for escalation of parts operation issues to the program team.
- Reports status of vehicle launch parts readiness to CCA Leadership.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Fluency in English and Chinese
- Strong knowledge current China automotive service parts operation practices, knowledge of GM aftersales process and systems, SGM JV aftersales process knowledge
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, Automotive Technology or equivalent experience
- High level of interpersonal skills, self-starter, results driven, strategic and innovative mindset
- Navigate successfully in the global environment, understanding diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Previous service parts operation management skills
- Automotive service parts experience at the wholesale or retail level
- Working knowledge of automotive service practices and procedures
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software
