Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Flint Assembly on a full-time basis.
The Role:
The Material Launch Coordinator is a key position that will work on floor planning and execution of new/changing material for Trim, Chassis, Final, and Body. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain build management including incoming material, TWOs, kitting and line side presentation. This role will require the selected candidate to effectively utilize personnel, material, and equipment to successfully coordinate launch activities. This position will primarily be on first shift but will require the selected candidate to be flexible and work off-shift/over-time when needed.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
- Participate in the training, developing and evaluating of hourly team members.
- Participate in the development of highly effective teams.
- Lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and serves as resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.
- Meet or exceed production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements.
- Maintains awareness of quality standards, and communicate department quality goals, and leverage resources to solve quality issues.
- Builds and maintains good working relationships with employees, union and management.
- Understands and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.
- Implement and follow systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues.
- Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping.
- Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods.
- Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).
- Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, control costs, and achieve productivity improvements.
- Coach, teach, counsel and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities.
- Follow and complete all issues not completed before SORP (Watch List).
- Attend and follow up - PET meetings.
- Utilize Family Address, Broadcast Codes & Routings to Current Model Year.
- Conduct Monthly safety talks / safety communications to our UAW material launch.
- Read, Validate & Log Future Model EWO's.
- Utilize GEPICs and ECM (emerge).
- Manage appointed UAW material team.
Additional Description
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Experience coaching, teaching, and mentoring employees.
- Experience managing/leading teams.
- 2 years of Supply Chain Management experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to work off-shift/over-time as needed.
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- 2+ years of Supply Chain Management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related field.
- GMS experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, in the materials department.
- Familiar with Family Address, Broadcast Codes & Routings to Current Model Year.
- Familiar with GEPICs and ECM (emerge).
