On-site: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Battery Cell Manufacturing Facility in New Carlisle, IN on a full-time basis.

About Synergy Cells

Synergy Cells is looking for talented individuals to support our Joint Venture between General Motors and Samsung SDI. In this new high-technology facility, Synergy Cells will cultivate the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology. With an investment of over $3.5 billion, Synergy Cells will be producing battery cells for GM electric vehicles.

Selected candidates will have the opportunity to learn new skills as well as influence processes and systems that will sustain industry leading performance. This role will be onsite and support our facility in New Carlisle, Indiana.

The Role:

As the Launch Manager you will be responsible for the coordination and visualization of all launch readiness plans. In addition you will be tasked with the management of strategic, cultural, operational, and tactical business-related activities among the staff. This includes presentation development, briefing materials, customer and executive engagement, and effective time management. Given the volume of written materials required as if coming directly from the leadership, the individual must possess exceptional written communication skills.

What You'll Do:

  • Support Launch Readiness for programs
  • Support the organization and running of the business (staff meetings, annual planning, special assignments, etc.)
  • Drive efficient and effective operating processes
  • Guide information flow to drive decision making with leadership
  • Develop and maintain multi-year business strategy
  • Manage the portfolio/business planning process
  • Summarize project business cases (deliverables, benefits, timing)
  • Assess execution of business initiatives versus the business plan
  • Analyze and report on key operating metrics for the group, including business, financial, and human resources
  • Lead a variety of special assignments, including strategic, operational, and cultural initiatives driven from the leadership team
  • Develop and conduct presentations for all levels
  • Act as main contact/lead for internal communications including leadership presentations and supporting information for Board updates
  • Collaborate and support with various operational and administrative entities as needed

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3+ years of Manufacturing experience in various positions
  • Previous supervisory/engineering project manager experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and significantly complex assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
  • Demonstrated initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others
  • Knowledgeable of productivity drivers impacting assembly performance
  • Lean training or implementation experience
  • Experience utilizing Lean Practices to achieve results
  • Shop floor team coaching experience with Business Plan Deployment, Problem Solving, Standardized Work, WPO and Continuous Improvement activities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work with a wide variety of functional groups
  • Must be able to travel 30% of the time both Internationally and Domestically

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Ability to read a site and identify key GMS tools and techniques that can be implemented to change both behaviors and business metrics.
  • Capable of training any of the 5 GMS principles and the supporting elements at multiple levels of the organization
