Work Arrangement:
This position is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM's Warren Technical Center in Warren, Michigan at least 3 days a week.
The Role:
The Business Planning Manager for Global Commercial Operations (GCO) supports the Vice President of GCO, Chris Hay with strategic planning and projects in managing projects, presentations, speeches, communications, shares feedback on the sentiment of the organization, and initiatives and action items as it relates to Global Order Fulfillment, Distribution Strategies, Vehicle Logistics and Center of Learning activities. This position also leads business planning, internal communications, learning and development, cultural transformation and change management. The role is a key contributor to the overall GCO initiatives ensuring traction with activities and timely in execution. The Business Planner will be expected to consult with stakeholders and Senior GCO Leadership Team members and collaborate with other Business Planners within the company.

What You'll Do:
- Develop and lead the business planning process; coordinate GCO business plan into a cohesive strategic enterprise plan
- Support development and tracking of KPIs and determine robust communication strategy
- Support senior leadership messaging and content for strategic reviews and forums
- Effectively communicate with leadership to keep them informed of relevant activities and decisions
- Coordinate executive-level activities, assignments, and deliverables: special projects, progress reports, etc.
- Lead the coordination of various meetings involving leadership including GSSB (bi-monthly), Global Scheduling (monthly) and VSSM x Logistics (weekly)
- Develop meeting agendas, make meeting arrangements, and document minutes
- Acts as point of contact for Global Commercial Operations for other GM functional areas to address needs from the business
- Complete tasks and propose solutions to ambiguous requests when minimum direction is provided
- Assist with the coordination and flow of innovative ideas and programs throughout the organization
- Provide directional insight to assist employees with accomplishing goals/tasks
- Manage the group's communication, safety, employee engagement strategy, and budget management
- Collaborate with the Global Safety Group and serve as the Safety Champion
- Lead Workplace of Choice Initiatives
- Execute special projects and analyses as required
- Must be willing to travel as needed (up to 10%)
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities: (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- 8+ years total experience in business planning or similar related roles
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience with strategic business initiatives
- Strategic thinker with effective interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across all levels to ensure understanding, message, and communications are appropriately tailored to the audience
- Professional and organized, self-starter with managerial courage to listen, provide clear direction and feedback with all levels across the organization including executives
- Ability to assimilate varied topics into clear, concise, and focused recommendations, presentations and communications appropriate to the audience
- Demonstrated strong leadership, change management, and communications experience
- Ability to lead others through influence and in alignment with all cultural behaviors
- Demonstrated strong written, oral and PowerPoint communication skills
- Attentive to detail and precision, with record of flawless execution
- Experience with all collaboration tools; MS Teams, SharePoint, VC, MS Office Suite
- High integrity and ability to manage highly confidential content
- Prominent level of time management and prioritization skills
- Prominent level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with, motivate and elicit work from others
- Prominent level of analytical ability where problems are very unusual and difficult
- Must be energetic, bright, hardworking, enthusiastic; willing to offer opinions and judgments and constructively challenge leadership
