Job Description Summary

The Systems Test Staff Engineer for the Advanced Programs Systems Engineering team will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives, particularly as related to the test design, setup, and execution for technology demonstrators and engine integration for future military aircraft systems.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage scope, schedules, coordination, and execution of assigned test activities.
  • Coordinate with customer on technical and installation requirements.
  • Manage coordination with various test sites and testing groups.
  • Lead cross functional teams in the execution of the demonstrator tests.
  • Lead and provide key technical direction on multiple projects and follow-on efforts with critical business impact.
  • Assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs while maintaining safe operation.
  • Respond to request for proposals and request for information from external customers.
  • Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within the work group.
  • Work with Senior/Principle Test Engineers.
  • Communicate with management on technical, financial and programmatic issues.
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering from accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering and/or technical program management role.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience working early engine development and integration programs.
  • Knowledge of GE test facilities and strong internal network within Test Services Engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market, and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Multiple years of engine test and/or instrumentation experience.
  • Knowledge of engine qualification procedures and requirements.
  • Experience working with DoD customer and processes.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
