Sr Staff Applications Operations Engineer

Job Description Summary

At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for engine and mechanical transmissions applied to both civil and military aviation (i.e., accessory drivetrains, engine thermal management, turboprop & helicopter reduction gearboxes, etc.).
In this role you'll be responsible for supporting and maintaining PLM applications ensuring the team has the facilities, tools, resources and skills they need to deliver on commitments while tracking ongoing execution and delivery of Application Operations SLAs.
The main focus will be on Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) applications used to create, manage and consume restricted and non-restricted data across the entire lifecycle of military products.

• Support and maintain critical applications and related data processing platforms and services.
• Ensure the team has the facilities, tools, resources and skills they need to deliver on commitments while tracking ongoing execution and delivery of Application Operations delivery SLAs.
• Maintain focus on Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) applications used to create, manage and consume restricted and non-restricted data across the entire lifecycle of military products
• Enable the product owners in delivering the digital solutions developed for the Engineering team, while leading the operations
• Ensure proper alignment with the digital platforms used for civil programs, leveraging common blueprints, infrastructures and vendors where possible.
• Be responsible for maintaining incident management, change controls, support coverage, and provisioning compliantly while coordinating direct or indirect resources, whether they're internal or external to Avio Aero.

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related discipline
• Technical depth knowledge and strong experience on Product Lifecycle Management technologies/solutions
• Expertise on data governance in the PLM domain, in particular related to International Trade Compliance, IP protection and levels of military classification
• Proven experience in Application Maintenance Services (AMS) in a similar industry/sector
• Proven experience in applying the Agile methodology and the Scrum framework to deliver solutions on time and on cost
• Fluent English and Italian
• Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required.

• Partners with users and product team to understand their application product operational needs; translate these into a support model for multiple programs.
• Defines, tracks and improves KPIs.
• Communicates operational status to users and leadership.
• Engages and drives resolution of escalated items.
• Expertise on the DevSecOps methodology will be an additional qualifying characteristic
• Proactively identifies and resolves issues and makes recommendations for improvements to existing processes
• Agile/Scrum, ITIL or similar certifications will be considered additional qualifying characteristics
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in geographically sparse cross-functional teams
• Able to adjust communication (e.g. level of complexity) and story to align with audience, to use relevant and appropriate presentation techniques, to respond to questions and to dissent in a constructive manner.
• Able to ensure group understanding of issues and to present rationale to affect outcomes. Able to resolve conflicting opinions through consensus.
• Demonstrated ability to use appropriate facilitation techniques to gain agreement or move others to action
