Job Description Summary

At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Business, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

As Sourcing Supplier Development Engineer you will drive the development of new/critical suppliers to meet capability, capacity, quality and delivery target. You will perform Suppliers Capacity and Risk assessment and you will be accountable for the results and risk mitigation actions in front of Leadership and Customers.
Starting from the review of commodities needs, supplier performances and new assigned business, you will define the needed plan aimed to guarantee a full recovery of the gaps and you will ensure a full and timely execution of it.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead visits to key supplier sites to perform Capacity, Operational Capabilities and Risk assessment
  • Identify improvement and risk mitigation opportunities at key supplier sites and manage these improvement activities
  • Work with Procurement, Commodities and Supplier Quality stakeholders to create supplier development plans for selected critical suppliers, focused on quality, delivery, capacity and supplier process capability
  • Drive supplier performance improvement plans and interface with internal and external partners to collaboratively pursue solutions and closure of action plans
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve their processes and product manufacturing capabilities
  • Support selective suppliers in their journey to becoming lean, as well as strengthen the relationship between the two companies
  • Develop strong working supplier relationships with regular communication and site visits

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field or High School Diploma with relevant experience
  • Proven experience in Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and / or related fields
  • Experience in Supplier Evaluation, Assessment or auditing
  • Strong ability to build relationship with suppliers and with internal team
  • Availability to travel min 50% of time
  • Fluent Italian and English
  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

  • Czech or Polish knowledge
  • Knowledge of main manufacturing processes and aeroengine modules components (Machining Operation, Forgings, Castings)
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing logics and APQP basics
  • Problem solving attitude
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully complete multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines and ability to think strategically and pragmatically
  • Ability to cope with multiple complex situations daily
