You will lead a team of Commodity Leaders to drive overall supplier performance in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost for a supply base representing ~$1.4+ Bn in annual spend.

Configured Systems Sourcing Leader
In this role, you will lead all aspects of Configured Systems Spend which includes Commodity Management, Commercial Negotiations, Supplier Selection, and Commodity Strategy supporting both HDNU and Aero. You will be responsible for defining & executing the commodity strategy for the Material Ship Direct (MSD), Balance of Plant (BOP), AERO, and Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) commodities. This role reports directly to the HDNU Projects Sourcing Leader.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing & executing the sourcing strategy & fulfillment of HDNU materials including alignment to Gas Power business objectives.
- Lead the supplier selection, qualification, development, and overall supplier management including ongoing supplier performance in safety, quality, delivery & cost.
- Partner across the organization to further develop a robust SIOP process for HDNU Projects Sourcing.
- Partner with Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Finance, Pivot-to-Value, Projects COE & Quality teams to develop a capacity growth strategy for 2025-2028
- Drive direct material productivity through partnership with cross-functional stakeholders and Global Commodity Leaders, utilizing supplier negotiations, competitive bidding, strategic partnerships, engineering design changes, supplier process improvements, Best Cost Country optimization, & actions to increase the overall competitive landscape.
- Drive 100% compliance to sourcing policy / procedures, supplier approval, competitive bidding and delegation of authority approvals.
- Ensure supplier adherence to GE Vernova cyber security requirements to protect GE Vernova IP and overall business continuity.
- Partner with the Gas Power Supplier Quality team to drive continuous improvement in the areas of QMS compliance, supplier defects/process capability, SDR reduction, and COPQ.
- Lead supplier negotiations regarding claims & recovery
- Actively support supplier fulfilment issue resolution through commercial escalation
- Collaborate with Global Supply Chain Demand Management, HDNU Projects, and Commercial/ITO teams in long-term capacity planning of the MSD, BOP & HRSG supply base.
- Support NPI product launches from design through first unit delivery, leading RFQ, negotiations and supplier award to meet targets and program objectives. (including DAC and others)
- Ensure global contracts are executed properly and market shares are followed.
- Implement continuous improvement activities (lean, standard work, daily management, problem solving, waste elimination) in all areas of responsibility, with a particular focus on improving processes to help the HDNU Projects Sourcing team focus more on value-add items and improve operating performance.
- Prepare and present executive presentations to business leadership teams to influence outcomes on current and future sourcing imperatives.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge or experience
- Significant commercial experience in Sourcing, Sales, Commercial Operations, and/or Supply Chain.
Desired Characteristics
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA)
- Prior sourcing experience in contract negotiation negotiating, identifying opportunities, selecting suppliers and implementing contracts
- Cross-functional experience in Engineering, Projects, Manufacturing, or Commercial/Sales.
- Prior experience in developing a multi-year commodity sourcing strategy
- Prior experience in leading negotiations with senior management levels in supplier organization
- Prior experience leading people
- Strong quantitative and data analysis skills
- Strong project management and process improvement skills
- Change agent with ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Process leadership experience such as CAP, WorkOut, process improvement, or quality
- CPM or APICS certification
- Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $350,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's geographic location, experience, education, skill set, and work location. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation and equity. Benefits include health and additional benefits. This posting is expected to expire on March 18, 2025.
