As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Production Transition Manager to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Systems Integration Leader, the Senior Production Transition Manager will play a pivotal role in facilitating the seamless transition of aerospace products from design to production, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company protocols.

The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, exceptional manufacturing expertise, and a proven track record of successful production transitions. This role will involve overseeing the smooth transition of aerospace products to full-scale production, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with industry standards. The position will coordinate with international teams and suppliers. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment and partnership with other divisions to shape and grow the business.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the planning and execution of production transition activities for new aerospace products, including establishing manufacturing processes, defining quality control measures, and optimizing supply chain logistics while ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, procurement, and operations, to ensure a smooth transition to full-scale production while meeting cost, schedule, and quality targets.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that leverage advanced technologies, automation, and best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize production costs.
  • Provide technical expertise in manufacturing processes, materials selection, and production optimization to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery of components and adherence to specifications.
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes throughout the production transition phase to ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and mitigation strategies to identify and address potential manufacturing challenges, such as material shortages, process bottlenecks, or supplier dependencies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production workflows, increase productivity, and enhance product quality, leveraging data-driven analysis and feedback from internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies, providing guidance and training to junior engineers and production staff as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies, maintaining documentation and records to support audits and certifications.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence within the manufacturing team, promoting a safe and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity and continuous learning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including manufacturing instructions, process specifications, and quality records to support production activities and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or production environment or project management role.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% internationally.
