The Senior Commercial Counsel for Digital Technology/Information Technology (DT/IT) procurement provides ongoing legal advice and support to business leaders across the organization of GE Aerospace. The Legal and Compliance team, of which you would be a part, is a dynamic experienced group of commercial and legal professionals who serve as GE Aerospace's internal subject matter authorities on all legal matters. The commercial counsel hired for this role will be a sophisticated, business-oriented attorney who can work effectively across all levels of the organization. You will collaborate with other legal groups and cross-functional business teams (including Compliance, Intellectual Property, Programs/Supply Chain, and Engineering) to strategize on, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of agreements spanning the GE Aerospace portfolio, with a particular emphasis on DT/IT procurement.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
GE Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Counsel, DT with a technology focus to support business leaders of GE Aerospace. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in negotiating and interpreting digital technology agreements. This role requires a deep understanding of technology procurement agreements, global data privacy laws, cybersecurity standards, and intellectual property considerations. The successful candidate will be adept at structuring, interpreting, and negotiating complex deals, and advising business colleagues on legal and commercial risks.
- Provide ongoing legal advice and support principally related to digital technology agreements, which includes structuring, interpreting, and negotiating complex deals, advising on purchasing in support of commercial or U.S. government business, addressing disputes with suppliers, and other related commercial and compliance issues
- Provide legal advice to lawyers and non-lawyers on legal and business issues
- Oversee audits relating to emerging risks as well as corrective actions, and implement strategies that will protect the business and manage business risk
- Anticipate and drive solutions for unassigned legal and business issues and growth initiatives
- Manage referral of matters to in-house legal specialists and occasionally outside counsel
Qualifications/Requirements
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Member in good standing with the State Bar.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney at a law firm, in-house, in government service, or at a comparable organization. with Technology as a primary focus.
- Proficient and experienced in negotiating technology procurement agreements, including software license agreements, software as a service (SaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and infrastructure as a service (IaaS), telecom agreements, hardware agreements (servers, storage, PCs, electronic devices, and other equipment).
- Proficient and experienced in negotiating global data privacy laws and cybersecurity standards (ISO, NIST) within technology procurement settings.
- Proficient and experienced in negotiating intellectual property considerations (primarily copyright) within technology procurement settings.
- Understanding of standard market terms within technology agreements.
- Proficient and experienced in structuring, interpreting, and negotiating complex deals.
- Proficient and experienced in evaluating and advising business colleagues on the legal and commercial risk being undertaken in a particular action, transaction, or agreement.
- Collaborating with and facilitating cross-team decision-making among the legal team, business teams, and other internal teams.

- The base pay range for this position is $187,500.00 - 265,000 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
