Job Description

Role Summary

Senior leader responsible for driving proactive operational cost management and productivity across People Operations, largest portion of HR functional spend. Senior Leader is well versed on the strategic priorities of People Operations including understanding the "why" behind areas that impact cost (headcount, purchased services). Senior Leader builds strong relationships with People Operations Leader and serves as their "CFO" with ability to influence change and recommend actions required to achieve cost targets and efficiency of operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Partner with People Operations Leader to translate operational actions into financial strategy & impact
  • Support People Operations team with proactive cost management (headcount, purchased services, T&L)
  • Responsible for execution of People Ops LRF and budget process designed by FP&A (support People Finance Leader as capacity permits)
  • Develop deep understanding of People Operations priorities and distinction vs. PY
  • Ensure understanding of upfront general range of acceptable spend, as defined by FP&A, utilize knowledge to shape proposed budget
  • Utilize knowledge of strategic priorities to apply a zero-base approach to build-up of budget
  • Isolate "investment" spend and form opinion on necessity and prioritization in partnership with People Operations team
  • Identify productivity opportunities upfront and facilitate analysis of potential impact and prioritization
  • Develop a deep understanding of LRF and budget composition and investments (headcount, purchased services, T&L)
  • Support People Finance Leader with operational commentary on LRF and budget rationale, provided to Corporate FP&A
  • Serve as HR reviewer of LRF and budget system load & reconciliation executed by Financial Analysts and Corporate Consolidation Analyst
  • Support People Finance Leader on CY and long-term Corporate Functions headcount construct and productivity targets
  • Develop process tailored to your preference that enables your regular understanding of cost actuals and upcoming cost
  • Maintain regular communication and touchpoints with People Operations Leader and team to ensure you're up to speed on key information
  • Perform review of standard monthly operational cost analysis/KPIs (headcount, purchased services, T&L)
  • Utilize monthly operational cost analysis/KPIs to identify key areas of action needed / areas to monitor
  • Utilize standard monthly operational cost analysis for monthly operational reviews with Corporate CFO/FP&A followed by Operating Leaders
  • Utilize data from People Finance Leader to perform monthly headcount reviews - prior month to current walks, review of open roles
  • Partner with Controllership and operational team to ensure accuracy of monthly cost accruals
  • Partner with People Operations Leader and team to develop quarterly forecast
  • Serve as reviewer of quarterly forecast system load & reconciliation executed by Financial Analysts and Corporate Consolidation Analyst
  • Partner with People Operations Leader and team to develop monthly pacing
  • Support People Finance Leader with operational commentary on monthly actuals & pacing, provided to Corporate FP&A
  • Support preparation for quarterly Corporate cost reviews with Aerospace CFO (summarized review of monthly operational analysis)
  • Support People Finance Leader with operational commentary for use in quarterly wrap, provided to Corporate FP&A
  • Drive accountability on People Operations productivity initiatives, support Productivity Analyst with monthly updates
  • Support People Finance Leader with onboarding and mentorship of Financial Analyst
  • Partner with OFLP and People Finance Leader on development of repeatable monthly operational cost analysis for use in monthly operational reviews (headcount, purchased services, T&L)
  • Partner with People Finance Leader on headcount initiatives to improve actuals analysis and forecasting
  • Support execution of special project for People Operations Leader

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 7 years of finance experience with prior FP&A role experience
  • Financial modeling skills
  • Leadership experience with senior management interaction
  • Demonstrated experience influencing and communicating at all levels, including with Senior Management
  • Proven project management and coordination skills
  • Experience managing direct reports
  • Proficient use of financial systems (e.g. Hyperion, Oracle) and analysis tools including Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

The base pay range for this position is $130,000-$160,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary. This posting is expected to close on February 28th.
