Job Description Summary
The role is based at the newly opened Services Technology Acceleration Center (STAC) and will lead the fulfillment of our operational metrics in line with Safety Quality, Delivery & Cost (SQDC), and the development of the culture at the new facility.
Unlike other production environments within the MRO network, our mission is to lead new technology development, accelerate the NPI process for new repairs and shop trials, and to provide technical training & support across the network.
Due to this unique operating environment, we are looking for self-motivated Operations Leader with knowledge of shop processes and the challenges of NPI, with an ability to collaborate with engineering teams across the sites and Repair Engineering, as well as coach and grow a team of shop engineers to drive efficient delivery across the site.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- In this role, you will have responsibility to lead the shop floor with rigorous daily management and problem solving across the appropriate safety, quality, delivery, cost (SQDC) metrics. This will include being the central interface with the relevant engineering groups and shops across the MRO network for NPI project execution.
- Creation and implementation of a site production schedule, including the supervision and training of shop floor engineers. This will include balancing multiple priorities and stakeholders relating to NPI trials, new technology development, low-rate production & Used Serviceable Material (USM) recovery.
- Responsible for the on-time delivery of shop floor activities related to NPI projects, TAT for our low-rate production activities and Leading Indicator Projects, and the management of our resource to responsibly grow capacity in line with utilization of the workforce.
- Partner with other business areas and contribute to shop audit schedule in line with Part 145 regulations and internal audits for both Safety and Quality. Includes shop preparation, maintaining current and relevant training for shop engineers, and root cause corrective action identification & mitigation.
- Management of shop engineer training and capabilities; includes requirements in accordance with Safety and Quality regulations, as well as technical cross-training & upskilling to support future capacity.
- Utilize FLIGHT DECK to introduce lean fundamentals across the shop floor (daily management, standard work, 5S). By identifying problems through daily management, you will be supporting defining and delivering a kaizen roadmap which targets events to create best-in-class machine standards and process improvements.
- You will need to develop and foster a culture with your team which focuses on prioritization by understanding the needs of all stakeholders, promoting problem solving at source and utilizing a flexible workforce committed to delivering on our customer commitments.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing, People Leadership, Operations, Planning, or Project Management (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of experience in Manufacturing, People Leadership, Operations, Planning, or Project Management).
Desired Characteristics:
- Safety First approach in leadership. Demonstrated success influencing EHS teams through an employee led daily management system.
- Understanding of Part 145 regulations, and/or operations within an aerospace quality-led production environment (commercial, military, new-make supply chain etc.).
- Proven experience with Lean fundamentals and an attitude which promotes continuous improvement. Experience with daily management, problem identification & corrective actions.
