Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Define strategy, evaluate, quote and negotiate costs for equipment (non-exclusive internal and external) and site works in support of commercial bids for ACS, FACTS, Services and HVDC projects.
  • Work closely with Application Engineering, Commercial and Operations teams to understand Customer requirements, timelines and needs for supplier identification in tender stage.
  • Lead Sourcing reviews for assigned Opportunities with support functions to ensure completeness of scope being quoted.
  • Coordinate with RCLs to ensure suppliers for material, services, and logistics are quoted timely and that the suppliers selected can meet quality, specifications, timelines and cost parameters of budget and are aligned with global sourcing strategies.
  • For commodities with no RCL or GCL, TSL/PSL is responsible to identify, evaluate, quote and negotiate costs.
  • Responsible for consolidating all costs and ensuring firming, cost solidity and risks are accurately assessed and documented.
  • Manage master planning for sourcing in conjunction with the overall project planning/scheduling team.
  • Ensure operational alignment across all functions within the project team
  • Ensure supplier assessments, supplier onboarding, and supplier qualifications are completed timely
  • Negotiate project-specific agreements for external material/equipment, subcontractors and site works where applicable
  • Ensure compliance with GE Grid Solutions sourcing policies

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sourcing in a high voltage electrical construction project environment/Renewable Energy or similar fields
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with contracting and negotiation of equipment, material, and subcontractors
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestic & internationally 20% of the time. Must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelors degree in business or technical discipline
  • Experience in utility construction sourcing
  • MBA and/or financial experience
  • Experience sourcing high voltage electrical equipment and materials as well as construction services and civil/site works
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Negotiation expertise
  • Strategic thinker / planner
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver results on time and in budget

The salary range for this position is 82,900.00 - 110,600.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. 82,900.00 - 110,600.00 - 138,200.00 USD Annual
