Job Description Summary

The On Wing Support CVG Materials Supplies Execution Associate, based in Northern Kentucky, will support coordination, demand, and fulfillment of all critical material flow (including from/to external vendors, GE Commercial Spares, and within the repair and overhaul network) according to production schedules for success of the business.

This site performs maintenance on GE/CFM commercial aircraft engines in the field and in shop.

As such, the Materials Supplies Execution Associate will assist the material fulfillment function to successfully execute Gate 2 processes (repair and kitting cycle) through liaison with materials teammates, technicians, production and planning team.

Applicants must be familiar with warehousing and inventory management techniques, but will also be exposed to and work within the regulatory obligations of a FAR-145 Repair Station.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

The On Wing Support CVG Materials Supplies Execution Associate will be responsible for the movement of hardware within the building and to and from vendors. They will also own the transactional tasks in SAP associated with the movement before and after the hardware is allocated and issued to the job.

** GE On Wing Support is a 24 / 7 / 365 operation.

  • Applicants must be willing and able to support calls during off-hours when emergency situations arise.
  • Applicants must be willing and able to work flexible shift patterns as required, including nights, weekends and holidays.

In addition, the On Wing Support Materials Supplies Execution Associate will:

  • Work to resolve materials issues to support OWS site with strong sense of urgency.
  • Put away and pull materials in alignment with production plan and KPIs. In that process, he or she will ensure parts are stored accordingly to prevent damage and contamination.
  • Practice effective inventory management strategy that assures site inventory levels are kept at minimal levels while still support shop operations. Help to manage inventory and participate in process improvements initiatives. Assist with regular cycle counts.
  • Create order demand for specific instances in SAP. Manage min/max inventory stocks. Order consumables, as well as execute indirect sourcing via SSS in a backup capacity (i.e., shop and office supplies).
  • Unpackage incoming shipments, and assist with receiving aviation materials ("inbound," "goods receipt," "QA inspect") in site ERP and label accordingly.
  • Prepare outgoing packages for shipment, including creation of shipping labels with various shipping companies. Physically prep assets to ship and receive (i.e., direct material, indirect material, tooling, consumables) and transaction outbound in SAP (ZODL)
  • Verify that all incoming and outgoing parts/ materials/ components comply with local and GE Aviation quality system standards. Visually examine materials and accompanying paperwork for defects and sort articles according to extent of defect. Accurately identify part numbers, serial numbers, and quantities and assure all match the accompanying paperwork.
  • Understand import/export/ITC requirements.
  • Create Commercial Invoices for parts/tools/materials coming into our going out of the facility.
  • Use powered equipment to complete necessary tasks such as sit-down forklift.
  • Comply with safety requirements, complete training per schedule, participate in investigations and read-across as requested, promptly identify safety issues, work with team to pursues solutions, and escalate issues.
  • Participate in assessments, read across and PFMEAs to identify and understand sources of defects. Promptly identify and escalate risks to leadership and work with team on solutions
  • Participate in LEAN events and apply learnings to daily activity. Apply and improve upon standard work in area of responsibility. Identify sources of waste and Customer dissatisfaction, escalate to leadership team and work among the team to find solutions.
  • Allocate inbound and outbound transportation costs to associated shop visit notifications in CTSI.
  • Complete the confirmation transactions (ZE18) and associated service bulletin checks to update structures and status to ultimately prepare the part for installation at the engine.
  • Liaison across multiple departments include both the internal team and customers to ensure seamless service.
  • Deliver "all-hands on deck" support for AOGs (Aircraft On Ground) as they arise.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of experience in Warehouse, Logistics and/or Distribution Operations).
  • Experience in Warehouse, Logistics and/or Distribution Operations required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of SAP ERP system, specifically the "Materials Module". Ability to demonstrate required knowledge of the ERP to ensure compliance with company materials processes and maintain inventory accuracy.

  • Features strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including problem-solving ability
