The Turbine Hot Gas Path (HGP) Aerodynamics CFD Lead Engineer will spearhead complex CFD analyses to predict turbine flowpath heat transfer and aerodynamics. This pivotal role involves collaboration with our aerodynamic and thermal design teams across commercial programs, from technology maturation to next-generation turbine design and support for existing products. You will lead the charge in advancing turbine aerothermal CFD predictive capabilities, playing a key role in shaping the future of aerospace engineering.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the aerothermal CFD analysis of high-pressure turbine components.
  • Develop advanced computational methods to enhance engine performance and durability predictions.
  • Grow a strong understanding of CFD, turbine aerodynamics, and thermal design to drive innovation.
  • Validate predictive accuracy through component and engine test data analysis.
  • Design and implement strategies to meet technical and program requirements efficiently.
  • Embrace and apply lean principles to enhance organizational productivity and efficiency.
  • Conduct trade studies in collaboration with cross-functional teams to fulfill project requirements.
  • Utilize analytical skills and creative thinking to propose solutions and tackle problems.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years in a turbine aerodynamics engineering position.
  • OR
  • Master of Science degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline with an emphasis in turbine aerodynamics with a minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience.
  • OR
  • PhD from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline with an emphasis on turbine aerodynamics


  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering relevant to turbomachinery aerodynamics with minimum of 3 years of engineering experience OR Doctorate Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering focused on computational aerodynamics/compressible flows
  • Proven expertise in CFD simulations and the ability to translate complex solutions into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with aerodynamic and thermal testing techniques.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in global teams.
  • Highly motivated with a keen interest in innovation and success.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
